“Social Bookmarking” and How it Drives “Back Links”
As most of us know, “Social Bookmarking” is a very hot topic these days in the Blogging world. Aside from the enjoyable personal aspects of posting regularly on sites like www.twitter.com, www.facebook.com, and www.linkedin.com, there is a huge benefit to understanding how to use these sites to generate the “Oh so Valuable” Back Links that we depend on heavily to drive traffic to our Blogs.
Please let me make this as concise as I can for anyone interested in driving more traffic to their Blogs. Get involved with Social Bookmarking as soon as possible! Why? Because these sites offer a “Compounded Interest” of your valuable time to build Back Links to cialis where to buy your Internet Dollar making Bog sites like www.internetdollars.net!
So how does it work? First let’s get on the same page as to what “Back Links” are and why they’re important.
Here’s how “Wilkpedia” defines “Back Links”…
Back links (or back-links (UK)) are incoming links to a website or web page. In the search engine optimization (SEO) world, the number of back links is one indication of the popularity or importance of that website or page (though other measures, such as Page Rank, are likely to be more important). Outside of SEO, the back links of a web page may be of significant personal, cultural or semantic interest: they indicate who is paying attention to that page.
In basic link terminology, a back link is any link received by a web node (web page, directory, website, or top level domain) from another web node (Björneborn and Ingwersen, 2004). Back links are also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links.
For our purposes, pay attention to the last part….”a backlink is any link received by a web node (web page, directory, website, or top level domain) from another web node.
So that you realize the importance of Back Links, if you can get your Blog Page URL on another website…you’ve created a Back Link! And these along with quality content that are rich with “Key Words” is what the Search Engines look for to rank your site. It’s that simple!
I recently came across a great PlugIn called the “WordPress Sociable Plugin” and it is so easy to use that it’s almost a crime. Here is the download site: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sociable/ You do the typical download, upload, and activation on your in your WordPress admin area and then go into “Settings”, click on “Sociable” link, and you will be able to choose from over 40 Social Networking sites that you can “Bookmark” your BLOG’s URL Links in to. Thus, by doing so you have created a “Back Link”. See the Social Sites that I have chosen below as an example as to what I believe are some of the most popular.
As I have said, it’s very simple to create Back Links using the “Social Bookmarking” capabilities offered by so many of the Social Networking sites. All you have to do for the most part is sign up as a member to the sites you want to broadcast your Blog on, and every time you write a post, go to these sites through the Icons that will show up at the end of your posts )like you see at the end of this post) after installing the “Sociable” PlugIn, and then you’re good to go.
I hope that you have found this information to be valuable, and if so, leave me a comment.
Success in your journey,
Todd
